GPA Requirements
Minimum 3.3 GPA required, but there are a couple of exceptions. Biological & Biomedical Sciences requires a 3.5 GPA minimum to apply. Computer Science requires a minimum 3.9 GPA.
Length of Term
12-week semester, including a mandatory orientation week
Term Dates
Approximately mid-September to mid-December
Places Available
Five to ten places are available for the Fall term.
Accommodation
Students live in a self-catered UCL hall of residence which is usually a short walk from the UCL academic buildings.
Coursework
Students are admitted into an Admitting Department in which they must take 50% of their credit. The remaining classes may be taken in other departments as long as the course is taught in the fall term (no year-long courses). Some departments, such as Math and Statistical Sciences, do not allow fall only students. Please see the program handout for details regarding course requirements.

Only certain UCL departments admit fall only students (the only option for study at UCL for Caltech students). Please follow this link to the recording of last week's Zoom session, passcode: ZP1Uy4.E
Those department are:
- the 3 biological sciences (Biology, Molecular Biology and Biomedical Biology) (Possible for bioengineers),
- Computer Science (Possible for EE option students),
- Chemistry (possible for Chem engineers or Material Science),
- Earth Sciences (Possible for Environmental Science),
- Mechanical Engineering,
- Math, and
- Applied Math, Physics, Astronomy and all other engineering aside from Mechanical will not admit fall only exchange students since they only give exams on the full year's work in May to early June.
