GPA Requirements
Minimum 3.2 GPA preferred, but will consider sophomores/juniors at 3.0 or 3.1 and consider juniors only at 2.8 or 2.9 with two recent terms at or above the 3.0 level.

Length of Term
9-week term; 8 weeks of lectures

Term Dates
Early Oct. to early/mid December for Michaelmas (Fall) Term
Early/mid January to mid March for Lent (Winter) Term

Places Available
Four places are available in the Michaelmas term and six are available
in the Lent Term.

Accomodations
Students are hosted by and live at either:  Corpus Christi College, St. John’s College, St. Catharine’s College or Pembroke College.  All are ancient colleges.

Coursework
Students study in their science or engineering option or in Economics if concentrating in Econ or BEM.  In special cases may be possible to get permission for a student to take course in a related tripos when the student needs to fulfill a Caltech requirement. However, this is not guaranteed.  Engineering students can take BEM-like (Business Economics and Management) courses due to special options offered by the Cambridge engineering department. Students in the Econ or BEM option can be admitted in the Cambridge Economics department.

Note: Students may not return to the U.S. during the term abroad.
